The Free State Province is distinguished by its scenic landscapes, rich cultural heritage, vibrant arts communities, and diverse adventure offerings, making it a leading destination for both domestic and international travellers. iXplore Africa Travel & Tours had the privilege of participating in the Free State Province Trade initiative, an immersive programme designed to showcase the province’s tourism attractions to tour operators from across South Africa.
This initiative provided a valuable opportunity to gain firsthand experience of the region, enhancing our ability to develop, package, and promote its offerings effectively. A key highlight of the programme was the visit to Clarens, a town celebrated for its artistic community, picturesque mountain landscapes, and vibrant local culture.
The itinerary included outdoor activities such as horse riding, ziplining, and quad biking, allowing participants to experience the province’s natural beauty and adventure opportunities directly.
Another significant component of the programme was the visit to the Kgodumodumo Dinao Interpretation Centre, which offered valuable insights into the Free State’s cultural heritage, local narratives, and the historical significance of the Basotho people. The centre also provided a compelling perspective on the region’s paleontological history, further enriching participants’ understanding of the province’s unique heritage. We look forward to welcoming domestic travellers to the Free State, providing them with the opportunity to explore and experience the province’s beauty, culture, and adventure.
